Time frame.

Normally one room, that is 150 square feet or 14 square meter area, takes 2 to 3 hours for packing and loading.

Car transport.

Cars are safely carried on car carriers, specially designed for the purpose. Documents required for movement of cars include photo copies of registration certificate, comprehensive insurance policy, pollution certificate and car keys. Retain the original documents and duplicate car keys.

Door to door move.

This is a complete move and includes packing, loading, unloading, unpacking, arranging at destination, transportation, insurance and escort.

However, it does not include additional services such as storage, making lift vans, crating, hoisting, appliance services, piano handling, placing individual items in drawers & closets, flight carry, handyman, shuttle service etc. These are extra ordinary services and charged separately.

Things to keep in mind.

Moving is a seasonal business with peak months being March to July. If one is planning to move during these months finalize the moving dates 3-4 weeks in advance. Also the first and last few days of the month are especially busy so plan accordingly.

Take insurance cover for the move. Retain cash, medicines, legal papers and important documents with you during the move.

Material used for packing.

Material usage depends upon the nature of the item. Normally the material includes corrugated paper, wrapping sheets, mover's cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, bopp tape, thermocole, wood etc.

Choosing the right mover is crucial for a hassle free experience. Make inquiries through friends, colleagues and acquaintances or just search online. Choose a company that has been in the business for a long time as their reputation would be known. Above all trust your judgement as you will be moving items that have a lot of sentiments attached.
